And if you&amp;rsquo;ve ever spent a day on the shop floor, you know that smell—those VOCs just hanging in the air.&#xA;We&amp;rsquo;ve started using infrared (IR) lamps instead, and it&amp;rsquo;s a totally different ballgame. Instead of trying to heat the air &lt;em&gt;around&lt;/em&gt; the wood, IR goes straight through the coating. It heats the wood itself, pushing the solvents out from the inside.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;It just makes sense.&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Here&amp;rsquo;s the thing about those VOC emissions. They usually spike when the evaporation process is dragging its feet. With IR, you&amp;rsquo;re hitting the coating with targeted energy that triggers faster cross-linking. The solvents are either trapped or evaporated in a tight, controlled window.&#xA;Plus, you aren&amp;rsquo;t running these giant, gas-fired ovens that basically turn your entire factory into a sauna. It&amp;rsquo;s a much cleaner way to work.&#xA;And let&amp;rsquo;s talk about the power bill.&#xA;Old-school drying tunnels are energy hogs. You have to spend hours pre-heating them just to get them up to temp. IR lamps? They&amp;rsquo;re on in seconds. You can flip them on and off as the line moves. No more wasting electricity heating up the walls of an oven while you&amp;rsquo;re waiting for the next batch. The energy goes where it belongs: into the wood.&#xA;But look, I won&amp;rsquo;t tell you it&amp;rsquo;s a magic wand. There&amp;rsquo;s a bit of a learning curve.&#xA;If you just crank the wattage and leave your conveyor belt running at the same speed, you&amp;rsquo;re going to have a bad time. You&amp;rsquo;ll end up with scorched wood or that annoying &amp;ldquo;orange peel&amp;rdquo; texture on the finish.&#xA;You have to get the lamp spacing and the line speed exactly right to balance the heat. And don&amp;rsquo;t forget the cooling zone at the end. If you don&amp;rsquo;t size that correctly to set the finish, your pieces might warp.&#xA;It takes a little tinkering to get it perfect, but once you do? You&amp;rsquo;ll never want to go back to those old ovens.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
